The Architecture of Fish Pie
Type: Institutional
Year: 2021
Site: Gertrude and Nicholson Street, Fitzroy
What does it take to create a fish pie? “The Architecture of Fish Pie” was an imaginative exploration of the spaces related to the agriculture, transport, cooking and consumption venues for a single dish: fish pie. Through various architectural esquises based on the same site in Gertrude St, Fitzroy, the project challenged the possibilities of the food experience, including eating amongst the detritus, harvesting local short-finned eels from storm drain systems, and a transport hub that architecturally reinforces the impact of food miles.
